Four kilometers from the finish, some top sprinters were caught, including the winner of the prologue and top favorite Danny Van Poppel (Sky). Some drivers fell again under the Flamme Rouge. In the final sprint, the 27-year-old American Travis McCabe (UnitedHealthcare) prevailed against the remaining competitors.
