The two-time biathlon world champion Miriam Gössner changes sports equipment this summer and starts for the professional mountain bike team "Rose Vaujany".
The biathlete's passion for mountain biking is well known, but the move to a professional team still comes as a surprise. In the spring of 2013, she narrowly escaped the wheelchair due to a training accident after a serious fall and fractured her vertebrae. After the accident, the three-time World Cup winner in biathlon was unable to build on her previous successes. On the other hand, things went all the better on two wheels when she finished sixth at the German MTB Sprint Championships last year.
“This is a new challenge that makes me think differently. There is a great atmosphere in the team, everyone here is super nice to me. I'm looking forward to exciting moments together," said Miriam Gössner to "rad-net.de".
