Cycling: The cycling year 2017 starts with great hopes and expectations for BORA-hansgrohe. With a top-flight roster, you want to play a good part in the peloton in your first season. Now the jerseys of the three national road champions were shown for the first time and the year 2017 was heralded with the launch video.
In the 2017 season, three national champions will wear the jersey of the new German WorldTour team BORA-hansgrohe. Rafal Majka (Poland), Juraj Sagan (Slovakia) and José Mendes (Portugal) prevailed against their compatriots in 2016 and are therefore starting with special jerseys in their national colors. The German racing team presented this to the public for the first time - Majka, Mendes and Juraj Sagan, like Peter Sagan, will receive white jerseys in the colors of their country or, in the case of Peter Sagan, in the iconic colors of the rainbow. The jersey of the Slovakian shooting star also has its own 'Peter Sagan logo' on the upper back.
Ralph Denk (Team Principal): "Of course it is a special moment in the life of a team manager to present a World Cup jersey. I am very proud and grateful to be given this honor. Peter is once again "the eye-catcher" in the peloton, which is of course also a pleasant side effect for our sponsors. With Peter's own logo on the upper back, we just wanted to say "thank you" for his outstanding performance.
But I'm also very proud that with Rafal, José and Juraj we also have three national champion jerseys in our ranks. In some races we will be seen almost more in white than in black.”
Peter Sagan: "I'm very proud to be able to wear the rainbow jersey again this year - now for BORA - hansgrohe. But with the new year, the cards are being reshuffled again. Hard work is now the basis for a – hopefully successful – new season. So far we're on the right track with my new team, I'm sure of that."
In addition, moving pictures from the training camp are now being published for the first time, officially heralding the 2017 season:
