Product news: Presentation: MCFK seat post

6 December 2016 by the editorial office

MCFK: There is a really noble component in our Velomotion advent calendar today. The MCFK seat post is not only one of the currently lightest seat posts up for grabs, it is also - like all MCFK products - completely Made in Germany!

The German manufacturer MCFK has made a name for itself as a carbon specialist far beyond the country's borders. On lightweight bikes from all over the world you will find the simple, light add-on parts of the Saxon noble forge, all of which are still made by hand in Germany. Handlebars, stems, saddles, wheels and seat posts are now part of the portfolio.

This summer, the next evolutionary stage of the in-house post was presented - it weighs a few grams more than the previous model, but uses a conventional saddle clamp instead of the yoke clamp used before. The reason: yoke clamps put a lot of strain on the saddle frame under load, since the entire weight rests very selectively on the often filigree struts. With the new clamping head, which consists of a carbon rocker, two titanium screws and some aluminum clamping parts, this load is distributed much more evenly - the result is significantly better durability and any "creaking problems" are also minimized.

With a weight from 115g, the MCFK support is one of the lightest that money can currently buy. Nevertheless, MCFK also approves use in cross and even on MTB and the weight limit is also extremely generous at 100kg. So you hardly have to worry about durability and stability.
