Cycling / Market: The German Shimano distributor Paul Lange und Co. OHG announced today that they will be working with the new German WorldTour Team BORA-hansgrohe in the coming season. The team bikes are therefore based on a Shimano drive and the pros around road world champion Peter Sagan will also be starting with Pro components.
Not a day goes by without news from the BORA-hansgrohe warehouse. While the new jerseys for the coming season were only recently presented, it was announced today that the yet-to-be-unveiled team bikes will be powered by Shimano. This continues the partnership with the German Shimano distributor Paul Lange & Co OHG, which already exists as BORA-Argon 18. In addition, Shimano, or more precisely the Pro components division, contributes the add-on parts for the cars from Sagan, Buchmann and Co.
Bernhard Lange, the managing partner of Paul Lange, is pleased about the renewed cooperation: "On the one hand, I'm of course happy and also a little proud that we, as a partner of the BORA-hansgrohe team, are once again represented in the 'Champions League' of cycling. Especially with regard to the start of this sponsorship in 2017, in which we are celebrating a unique anniversary in the bicycle industry: 50 years of partnership between Paul Lange & Co. and SHIMANO. The fact that the team around what is currently probably the best road rider in the world relies on SHIMANO and PRO when it comes to equipment clearly shows how high their quality and reliability is rated in professional circles. The fact that with BORA-hansgrohe we will again have a German team in the future that can and will certainly be among the front runners in the great classics and tours is also representative of the importance that cycling is slowly regaining in Germany.”
This means that 14 of the 18 WorldTour teams will probably start with Shimano drives.
