cycling: At the end, Max Walscheid wins again on Hainan

30 October 2016 by Michael Behringer

Cycling: Max Walscheid (Giant-Alpecin) was also able to win the ninth and thus his fifth stage at the Tour of Hainan. With this success in his last race of the year, the 23-year-old German also superiorly secured the green jersey for the points with the best. On the final 145,5 kilometer course from Qiongzhong to Xinglong, he left Roberto Ferrari (Lampre-Merida) and Rafael Andriato (Wilier-Southeast) behind in a mass sprint. Meanwhile, Alexey Lutsenko (Astana) was able to claim overall victory ahead of the Lampre-Merida duo Przemyslaw Niemiec and Matej Mohoric.
