Bronchitis paired with a stubborn sinus infection make it impossible to start. Months of planning and training are gone for the time being and the disappointment is of course great. However, the attempt is to be made up for at the same location in the coming months.
“It's not a test ride or Sunday lap that would have been planned for October 15th and 16th at the Velodrome Suisse. In a 24-hour world record attempt, where I have to do an average of 38 km/h and a wattage of 250, you not only have to be reasonably fit, you have to be in top form. Since I am far away from it due to the illness, we decided to postpone it. It would be irresponsible to start in this condition." commented the disappointed Christoph Strasser on the decision.
