Spectrum: Film art and cycling culture are once again on the agenda at the International Cycling Film Festival (ICFF) in Herne next weekend. The best bicycle film will be awarded the "Golden Crank" bicycle film prize on Saturday evening.
At the 11th edition of the International Cycling Film Festival, a total of 18 films from ten countries will be presented to the audience in the Herner Flottmann Halls. The films are, among other things, about people fighting for a more bicycle-friendly society and better coexistence. The Swedish-Uganda documentation "Cycologic" would like to show that there are not that big differences between Kampala and the "developed" world. The film “Inercia” from Argentina takes a completely different approach. The animated film is dedicated to a problem that many drivers have to face every day: traffic jams and standstill! The film poses a simple question: ride a bike and be in a good mood, or prefer the comfort of driving but breathe thick air?! Other films report on journeys and adventures or represent art in their own right.
The International Cycling Film Festival is organized by the Bochum "Büro für Filmkunst und Fahrradkultur" in cooperation with "Team Hollandse Frietjes - non-professional cycling" and the Herner Roomservice - Forum für Jugendkultur. The bicycle film festival is held in the Flottmann Halls, Straße des Bohrhammer 5 in 44625 Herne. Admission costs 5,00 euros.
