Product news: Specialized Torch: Limited Olympic Collection changes color with temperature

Market: Only a few days until the start of the Olympic Games in Rio. Not only perhaps the largest stage in the world for the athletes, but also for their outfitters - this is how the respective manufacturers come up with very special things every four years for the Olympics - Specialized sends its numerous athletes into the race with the new Torch Collection: The coating of the Frame changes color from bright orange to spark-colored yellow depending on temperature. The Torch Collection will also be available to end customers from retailers in a limited number.

One or the other will surely feel transported back to his youth with the new Specialized Torch collection: Matchbox cars that changed color depending on the temperature were all the rage. Now Specialized is using just such a finish for the performance frames Tarmac and Amira and the new Evade helmet: In interaction with the wind, sweat or body heat, impressive designs should result that constantly change depending on the weather and riding situation.



The Torch collection is designed to pay homage to the Olympic torch bearers - a symbol of competition, sportsmanship and the achievements that athletes achieve in a myriad of different disciplines every four years. The S-Works models of the Tarmac, the women's model Amira, the competition MTB Epic FSR and also the performance helmet Evade are equipped with the transformative paint finish. The collection also includes jerseys, shoes, shorts, gloves and more.

In addition to Tony Martin and Peter Sagan, the Specialized athletes in Rio also include Lizzie Armitstead, Rafal Majka and Vincenzo Nibali. But not only the athletes at the Olympics can enjoy the unique torch design, end customers can also purchase the corresponding products in limited quantities from their Specialized dealer.
