Cycling: What excitement at the Tour de Suisse! Ion Izagirre (Movistar) stole the show from Fabian Cancellara (Trek-Segafredo) in Davos and beat the Swiss in his prime discipline. Miguel Angel Lopez (Astana) took the overall lead with his second place. It's too early to celebrate, however, as the day before the final stage, the top four riders are separated by just 18 seconds.

Cancellara led for a long time on his farewell tour
As usual, the start was in reverse order of the overall standings today. Fabian Cancellara therefore rolled off the starting ramp very early. As expected, he set the best time and was then allowed to watch as one driver after the next failed to match his time. However, when it was the turn of the best-placed drivers in the overall standings, Cancellara became increasingly close. Finally, Ion Izagirre and Miguel Angel Lopez were able to beat the Swiss' time. The undulating profile over 16,8 km did not exactly suit Cancellara. He will probably rest now, end the Tour de Suisse early and prepare for the Swiss time trial championships.

The Tour de Suisse in just 18 seconds
Hard to believe that only 18 seconds separate the first four drivers. We have already seen two time trials, three sprint stages and three mountain stages. The peloton battled through wind and rain. There was a change of leadership almost every day in this Tour de Suisse. Is there another one to come, or can Miguel Angel Lopez defend his top spot tomorrow? The summit of the Flüela Pass stands in the way of the drivers 17,5 km from the finish. The mountain of honor category will bring the decision uphill and downhill. Clear the ring for the four-way battle between Miguel Angel Lopez, Andrew Talansky, Ion Izagirre and Warren Barguil.
