MTB-News / Spectrum: Ex-trial pro Martyn Ashton has been paraplegic since a fall at the end of 2013 – but the 41-year-old has shown again and again that his handicap doesn't stand between him and his great love of cycling. Last year, thanks to a special seat, he ventured onto a mountain bike for the first time since his injury. Now he's going one better: In his new video "Down not Out" Ashton conquers the course of the Downhill World Cup in Fort William.
Anyone who has followed Martyn Ashton on social media since his fatal fall three years ago should be familiar with the Brit's irrepressible will. Despite the severe stroke of fate since he has been in a wheelchair, he is always looking ahead and will not be dissuaded from his dreams. Another testament to this remarkable attitude towards life is the video "Down not Out", in which Ashton takes a seat on a special version of Canyon's new Sender CF downhill bike and takes it on the Downhill World Cup course in Fort William, Scotland. We take off the helmet.
