Kick-off for the 2016 season! With our team presentation at the Sporthotel 11 in the Marienfelder Klosterpforte, the new sporting year has officially started for us. With 13 hard-working and motivated drivers, we are in a great position for 2016. In addition to the 'well-known' TEAM GREEN'N FIT faces Dennis Biendarra, Thomas Frost, Stefan Frost, Manuela Freund, Marion Wittler and Jane Kittel, we had a good number of new members this year, both men and women.
From more than 400 applicants, the choice finally fell on Marco Bastiaansen (37, women), Peter Mertens (39, Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock), Oliver Nienaber (40, Herzebrock-Clarholz), Jonathan Reuning (24, Bielefeld), Kai-Uwe Sommer (49, Gütersloh), Tanja Hennes (44, Attendorn) and Tamara Kroll (44, Castelsarrasin/France). Crucial for the selection were racing experience, regional character and personal contacts. So we are well prepared for the challenges of the season and are among the absolute best, especially in the women's area.
We are pleased that we can again build on a stable, potent framework of trustworthy sponsors and supporters this year. This also includes the agency livewelt from Gütersloh, which among other things ensures that you are regularly provided with news and pictures from the GREEN'N FIT warehouse. The fact that Ole Ternes, a former professional cyclist, is in charge there is of course a great thing for us. He is also happy about the partnership: “We give ambitious amateurs with great personal will and goals the opportunity to train with the best equipment and the best trainers for a year and thus improve. Cycling is currently very trendy. The hype is indescribable. This is the new golfing.”
The team namesake and main sponsor TRUW Arzneimittel from Bielefeld-Ummeln is also on board in 2016. Managing director Martin Steiner symbolically even pedals himself. Our own performance-enhancing organic granules, which are available in pharmacies, help with this. There was a big change in the rest of the sponsors. We are still happy about the support from Shimano, DT Swiss, Jakroo, Uvex, Camelbak, Contec, innobike, B&W International, Walkenhorst, Christinen, Cesra, Hotel-Residence Klosterpforte and Velomotion.
This year we are also proud to announce that the direct mail order company ROSE Bikes from Bocholt will support us with top bikes and equipment. Our 13 drivers will contest the season on the 6,85 kg light ROSE X-LITE CRS. By the way, apart from the design, these are 1:1 the wheels with which the ProConti team Stölting Service Group is also starting. The cooperation with ROSE and the Marienfelder Klosterpforte has also resulted in a great offer for the hotel guests there: In the future, 20 bikes of various designs and textures will be available there for test rides.
