MTB cycling: In just eight weeks on 16./17. The Specialized-SRAM Enduro Series will start the 2016 season on April XNUMXst with the kick-off in Treuchtlingen. In contrast to last year, only four races will be held this year as part of the popular German-speaking enduro racing series. The other venues of the Specialized-SRAM Enduro Series are Willingen, Schöneck and Leogang/Saalbach Hinterglemm.
Treuchtlingen awaits the elite classes with seven stages spread over a distance of 33 kilometers and 930 meters in altitude. The key data of the open classes are also impressive: Five stages and 22 kilometers with 600 meters of altitude will certainly demand a lot from the participants. The run for the starting places has already begun. Since registration opened last Tuesday, more than 450 drivers from 13 nations have registered for the race in Altmühltal. Spectators, organizers and the riders themselves can already look forward to a top-class starting field.
Last year's series winner Michal Prokop (Ghost Factory Racing Riot) from the Czech Republic has already registered for all races of the Specialized-SRAM Enduro Series. German champion Fabian Scholz (Focus Trail Team), former German champion André Wagenknecht (Cube Action Team) and Markus Reiser (Focus Trail Team) are also hot contenders for victory in Treuchtlingen. In the women's category, Raphaela Richter (Radon Magura Factory) is the absolute candidate for victory, but Sandra Rübesam (Rose Factory Racing) is sure to give him a hard time. So excitement is guaranteed!
A new feature this season is the Open Junior Class. The new class is intended to further increase attention to the young drivers. The overall winner of the junior class can look forward to a sponsorship package for the 2017 season. Of course, the spectators will also get their money's worth in Treuchtlingen. A large expo area invites you to discover and find out more, the packed supporting program will certainly not leave you bored. As a special highlight, there will be a kids balance bike race for the stars of the day after tomorrow.
