The KMC MTB Bundesliga starts the 2016 season with four top organizers. The HC race in Bad Säckingen opens the Olympic year on April 9th and 10th. In addition to the HC classics in Heubach and Titisee-Neustadt, there is also a promising new Bundesliga organizer in Ortenberg in Hesse.
The 2016 season is marked by the five rings and the KMC MTB Bundesliga cannot escape the impact of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Or to put it another way: Can benefit from it.
At the Gold Trophy Sabine Spitz in Bad Säckingen, world ranking points will be at stake at the start of the international series. Points that are relevant for the nation ranking and thus the starting places in Rio.
The BiketheRock in Heubach is already a magnet for spectators and top athletes. The 16th edition of the event will take place on June 18th and 19th.
A week after the Olympic race in Rio, Ortenberg is waiting for the cross-country bikers. The town in the Wetterau district, about an hour's drive northeast of Frankfurt, celebrated a successful debut on the mountain bike scene in 2015 with the German Eliminator Sprint Championships. 2016 takes it a step further and launches a cross-country race on August 28th.
The final will be held in the Upper Black Forest. Titisee-Neustadt managed a strong Bundesliga premiere in July and they want to build on that on September 17th and 18th at the Hochfirst-Schanze.
Sprint continues to be part of the KMC Bundesliga
World champions Fabrice Mels and his successor Daniel Federspiel competed in the Eliminator Sprint at the Singer Forest Cup in July. There is no question that there will also be a sprint competition in Titisee-Neustadt in 2016.
In Ortenberg you want to build on the DM and also align an eliminator on the clear route.
The competition program in Heubach and in Bad Säckingen is currently being discussed. In any case, the sprint races should also be included in the overall ranking of the KMC MTB Bundesliga in 2016.
The German Cross Country Championships will take place in Wombach on July 16th and 17th. That explains why the Mainfranken are missing from the ranks of the organizers after a year of KMC Bundesliga. The German Eliminator Sprint Championship will be held on June 11th in Bodenmais.
