Langenberg is a good patch for me! After I was able to celebrate my very first victory in the men's category on this route last year, I was certain for a long time: The 2015 season will also end for me with the Langenberg Marathon!
After struggling with tired legs at the marathon in Arnstadt last week, I decided to take three rest days this week and so I started on Sunday morning with fresh legs. Ready to fire again.
68 kilometers / 1964 meters in altitude spread over two laps lay ahead of us. Together with the long distance (three laps), after a start delay of XNUMX minutes due to a lack of route signage, it was off to the track. After some time, a leading group formed with Klaus Reinisch, Max Feger (both Rapiro Racing) and me as a middle-distance rider, as well as Mathias Frohn (Team Firebike Drössinger) and Florian Gaul (EGF Bunstruth Racing).
On the final climb I looked for and then found my luck. At the summit, I caught up with Mathias Frohn, who had left shortly before. With him I managed to keep the two Rapiros at "distance". In the end, my lead was 2 seconds on Klaus and 7 on Max. A really tight box and an all the better success for it.

This year I rode my bike about 8400 km, 373 hours and 121000 meters in altitude. In addition, there were a few hours on the spinning bike in spring, the weekly maximum strength training in the gym and running. André from the Institute for Training Optimization in Wolfsburg got a lot out of me this year and it paid off.
With 17 race events this season I can be more than satisfied with my results.
Many thanks to all friends, supporters, sponsors and of course the family. It was an incredible year with you!
I'm really looking forward to starting again next year for Team Velomotion powered by Centurion and I can't wait to race again, but I need a break too!
Up soon
