Market: To mark the 25th anniversary of SPD shoe-pedal technology, the trail/enduro shoe M200 will be available in blue from August/September as a limited edition. The special models of the PD-M995 and PD-M990 pedals are also presented in Shimano blue.
25 years ago, Shimano opened a new chapter in cycling with the presentation of the first SPD pedal M737 and the matching shoe M100. For the first time, mountain bikers were able to maintain perfect contact with the pedals, even on rough terrain. The SPD technology represented a real revolution for mountain bike racing - a new era was born!
With the special edition of the M200 in blue, Shimano would like to commemorate this memorable moment. Like the regular model, the trail/enduro shoe M200B is characterized by the combination of efficient power transmission and comprehensive protection. Features of the shoe include the speed lancing system, the asymmetrical ankle protection, the padded lace cover and the toe cap. The upper of the Shimano M200B is made of synthetic leather, the outsole with variable density is made of robust plastic. According to the manufacturer, the pair of shoes in size 40 should weigh only 762 grams on the scales. The M200B, which is limited to 300 pairs in Germany, is available in sizes 42-47. Because it means access quickly! The price is 189,95 euros.
The pedal special models PD-M995 and PD-M990 in blue are suitable for this. The trail pedal PD-M995 was specially developed for demanding trails and difficult descents. For perfect wheel control, the PD-M995 has a wide shoe-pedal contact area. The click mechanism is protected from damage by the cage. Shimano specifies the weight of the pedal, which is available for 144,95 euros, as 379 grams. The even lighter PD-M990 race pedal is particularly suitable for cross-country use. For the lightweight with 310 grams 139,95 euros must be put on the counter. As with the shoe, prospective buyers have to react quickly. Only 995 pairs of the PD-M150 are sold nationwide, while 990 pairs of the PD-M450 are available.
