Market: The Italian bicycle manufacturer Wilier Triestina brings two new racers onto the market with the GTR SL and the GTR Team. The two carbon monocoque frames come from the same shape and are therefore identical in terms of key data, but different fibers are used.
With a frame weight of just 990 grams, the GTR SL is a whole 200 grams lighter than the GTR Team. Using the same construction technology, the GTR Team otherwise has all the advantages of the lighter GTR SL. For example, both models have a standard press-fit bottom bracket measuring 41 x 86,5 mm. For greater torsional rigidity, the tubes that converge at the bottom bracket have been designed with edges. As with the Zero.7, Cento1SR and Cento1Air models, the integrated fork and the well thought-out alignment of the top/down tube should bring advantages in terms of stiffness and aerodynamics. The routing of the cables inside the frame with the help of a special adapter plate is also ingenious.
The rear mounts with different cross-sections have been developed with comfort and ride quality in mind. The wider cross-section near the seat tube is designed to increase stiffness and efficiency, while the narrowing cross-section is designed to absorb vertical impacts. The rear end is asymmetrical, which allows for higher compression deformation on the one hand and better pedaling performance on the other. In order to meet the modern trend of gravel biking, the rear end is also suitable for accommodating more comfortable 28 mm tires.
The GTR SL and GTR Team are available in 12 sizes: six sizes from XS to XXL with racing geometries and six sizes from XS to XXL with endurance geometries. In contrast to the Cento1SR and Cento1Air, which are designed for pure competition, the GTR SL / GTR Team with racing geometries is intended to offer an ideal compromise between competition and comfort. The endurance geometries are aimed more at comfort-oriented riders. Depending on the equipment, the prices for the GTR Team are between EUR 1719,00 and EUR 2398,00, with the GTR SL the fun starts at EUR 2898,00.
