Track sport: Starting today, young track talent will be fighting for medals at the European Track Championships in the U23 and U19 classes in Athens. Over the next six days, the coveted precious metals will be awarded in 40 disciplines. The BDR, which is represented with a strong contingent in Greece, expects a similarly good result as in the previous year.
Last year the BDR team won three gold medals, four silver medals and two bronze medals. A top result that the team will of course have to be measured against this year. However, the chances of a high number of medals are not bad. The BDR squad has a very strong field of drivers. The defending champion in the U23 individual pursuit, Mieke Kröger, is also represented in the BDR squad, as is Emma Hinze. A shower of medals is expected, especially in the short-term disciplines, but the endurance athletes are also promising very good results in Greece.
