Market: The Swedish helmet and clothing specialist POC is starting summer 2015 with new bike pants. The extensive collection for men and women includes pants in different designs and for different requirements. Specially designed seat cushions guarantee the racing cyclist a completely new riding experience.
The goal of the POC developers' collaboration with professionals from the UCI team Cannondale-Garmin was to reduce the pressure and vibrations that are transmitted from the saddle to the rider. Inspired by the VPD protector material, the silicone-based VPDS inserts were developed and integrated into the seat pad at strategically sensible locations. For the 2015 season, POC has developed different seat pads that are used in different pants.
The highlight of the new line: POC Contour Aerofoil Bib Short
The POC Contour Aerofoil Bib Short is a short, breathable short with straps. The pants with compression effect are made of special Aerofoil material and have the 3D-molded Contour seat pad with three different thicknesses of cushioning areas. The perforated VPDS inserts should enable optimal wearing comfort even on long trips. For a perfect fit, there are seamlessly integrated grippers on the inside of the leg ends, and the dimple structure on the outside should also bring aerodynamic advantages. Other highlights of the shorts include silicone grips on the straps, a pocket on the back and reflectors. The POC Contour Aerofoil Bib Short is available at a price of 339,95 euros. The POC Contour Bib Short, which has the same seat padding as the POC Contour Aerofoil Bib Short, is a little cheaper. The POC Contour Bib Short has to do without the Aerofoil material, the silicone grips in the bib area and the dimple structure on the outside. The grippers on the leg ends are a bit narrower, but these pants also offer reflectors and compression. The price for the POC Contour Bib Short is 249,95 euros.
Extensive: The POC Multi D line
The POC Multi D Bib Short and the POC Multi D WO Bib Short for women are equipped with the Multi D or Multi D WO seat pad. The Multi D is the POC seat pad with the highest breathability! Three cushioning areas and the VPDS inserts guarantee comfort on long trips. The women's shorts have a wide strap section for optimal support and perfect freedom of movement. The POC Multi D ¾ Bib is available for cooler days. The prices for the pants are 179,95 euros for the Multi D Bib and 249,95 euros for the ¾ model. The Multi D WO Short Tight is similar to the POC Multi D WO Bib Short. The tight-fitting women's shorts with compression effect have a shorter cut and do not have any straps at all. In the back area, the POC Multi D WO Short Tight has a high-cut waistband, which is designed to ensure women a comfortable fit without annoying slipping. The short is available at a price of 159,95 euros.
For cold days: The POC Thermal Tights
Even if nobody wants to think about it now, the cool days will come again - definitely even! For cold conditions, POC has the Thermal Tights ready, which are windproof on the front and are even supposed to keep out rain. The 4-way stretch material is intended to ensure optimal freedom of movement, while the roughened inside provides the necessary warmth. The leg ends of the POC Thermal Tights, which are delivered without seat pads, have silicone grips for a good fit. The price for the pants is 179,95 euros.
