Lifestyle: From June 12th to 14th, the Ziener Bike Festival Willingen powered by Mini opens its doors to mountain bikers from all over the world in Willingen, Sauerland. With a packed supporting program, the mega event captivates more than 30.000 visitors every year.
This year almost 180 exhibitors and around 400 brands are waiting for festival visitors. In addition to lots of tips and information from the on-site specialists, mountain bike fans can look forward to numerous test events and taster courses. Bargain hunters also get their money's worth: Special festival prices invite you to extensive shopping. Parallel to the outdoor fair, high-level competitions are also on the program again this year. Around 3000 active cyclists will start at the various competitions.
June 13, 2015 / 7:30 am: Rocky Mountain Bike Marathon
The Rocky Mountain Bike Marathon traditionally takes place on Saturday from 7.30 a.m. Almost 2000 athletes will be pedaling in the battle for the best time this year. There are also numerous international professionals among the starters. The participants of the marathon can choose between three different distances and levels of difficulty.
June 13, 2015 / 16:30 p.m.: Canyon Pumptrack powered by mtb-academy Race
Old master and riding technique guru Stefan Hermann shows on the specially created wave track how to ride a pump track with mighty flow and style. Curve technique and pushing are the magic words here that guarantee smooth gliding over the waves. After a trained preparation, what you have learned can be implemented in your own contest.
June 14, 2015 / 7:30 a.m.: Specialized-SRAM Enduro Series
A demanding course profile awaits the enduro racers on Sunday at the third and northernmost race of the Specialized-SRAM Enduro Series. Around 26 drivers will be at the start on the 400-kilometer course. The strong international field of drivers features top drivers such as the Czech Michal Prokop, the Irishman Greg Callaghan and the New Zealander Joseph Nation. Of course, the new German champion Fabian Scholz is also fighting for important points in the Upland.
June 14, 2015 / 11:30 a.m.: iXS German Downhill Cup
Speed, powerful jumps and lots of adrenaline are guaranteed at the iXS German Downhill Cup on the Ettelsberg! The race will take place from 11:30 a.m. on the former World Cup course. Can Nick Beer from Switzerland and Kim Schwemmer from Germany repeat their success from the first race in Winterberg at the second of a total of five stops in the national racing series?
June 14, 2015 / 12:00 p.m.: Scott Junior Trophy
The Scott Junior Trophy is also an integral part of the Bike Festival's calendar of events. Young bikers between the ages of three and 14 can show off their potential on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. Of course, there are attractive prizes to be won here as well.
