6 May 2015 by Andrew Waldera

Market: Premiere under the toughest competition conditions: The new POC Do Half Blade racing glasses will be used for the first time at the Giro d'Italia. The Cannondale-Garmin Pro Cycling Team wears the red-hot model, which is designed to give road cyclists improved lower and peripheral vision.

Based on the POC Do Blade glasses, which will continue to be available in the range, the POC product developers have incorporated some further developments in terms of fit and design into the new model. The aim was to be able to offer racing cyclists glasses for a new driving experience with an extended field of vision - and thus even more safety on the racetrack.

POC uses Grilamid as the material for the Do Half Blade glasses frame. The polymer is not only very light, but is also characterized by its strength. The product developers at POC were thus able to design a frame that combines low weight with high durability, also through the use of fewer moving parts. An individual adjustment of the glasses is possible thanks to the adjustable nosepiece.

Another highlight of the Do Half Blade road bike glasses are the interchangeable Zeiss lenses with a revised anti-fog coating. The coloring of the discs has also been optimized specifically for the requirements of road cycling. The increased contrast perception should enable racing cyclists to recognize bumps and obstacles on the road particularly quickly. A spare lens is included with the Do Half Blade road bike glasses.

Fortunately, interested parties do not have to put up with long waiting times. The glasses will be available from June 2015.
