Market: The French tire manufacturer Michelin is now also offering the PRO4 Endurance in a 28 millimeter version. The wider version is intended to offer the racing cyclist increased flexibility and more riding comfort.
In line with the demands of the current racing bike generation, the new Michelin PRO4 Endurance 700x28C should combine the advantages of the 700x23C and 700x25C tires that have been available on the market for some time with an extended range of use. The larger air volume and the lower minimum inflation pressure of the 28 mm version also allow use on poor track conditions such as gravel, cobblestones and granular asphalt. The tire pressure of the Michelin PRO4 Endurance 700x28C can be lowered to up to four bar - with the same puncture protection, grip and durability. For greater driving efficiency, the product developers have reduced the wider tire contact area of the 28 mm tire compared to the 23 mm tire. For the racing cyclist this means, in plain language, conserving endurance or conjuring up a higher average speed on the asphalt. The dual-compound tread of the new tire should ensure high wear resistance and extra grip, both in dry and wet conditions. For high resistance to punctures, Michelin has given the PRO4 Endurance 700x28C a 3×110 TPI carcass and circumferential reinforcements on the flanks.
