cycling: Georg Egger wins the Bavarian championship

Cycling: Georg Egger from the Lexware mountain bike team won the title of Bavarian national champion in his home town of Obergessertshausen. Team colleague Max Brandl became the new Junior Champion.

For Georg Egger, the Bavarian championships were about one last test before the start of the World Cup in Nove Mesto, after he recently had to miss the Bundesliga race in Heubach due to illness.
On the other hand, the race was a real home game, as it largely took place on the property of the Egger family.
The 2,7 kilometer lap there is a kind of "mini nove mesto" and in this respect it is good preparation for the U23 World Cup in two respects.

U23 champion Georg Egger immediately took the lead and pulled away after Junior Max Brandl fell behind him. Egger couldn't be caught by German U23 runner-up Martin Frey either.

“I was only able to start training again this week. It went really well for that”, Egger was happy about his home win in front of Martin Frey from Swabia, who was out of competition, and Lysander Kiesel (Wildpoldsried).

Max Brandl wasn't really upset by his fall. He had the junior competition under control and won the title of Bavarian Junior Champion.
