Market: BMC had the first carbon 29er in the Enduro World Series with the Trailfox and promptly achieved top results thanks to Francois Bailly-Maitre. The Trailfox is now the first bike to be equipped with the new electric Shimano XTR Di2.

Last year, Shimano launched the first electric groupset for mountain bikes. The Shimano XTR Di2 is based on the same technology as the electric racing bike shifter, the Dura Ace Di2, and was already used by Julien Absalon in the Cross Country World Cup. Now the BMC Factory trail crew has been equipped with the new group and tested it extensively in Finale Ligure.

"The XTR Di2 is incredible", said Bailly-Maitre, the team's frontman. “She is super fast and very precise. You can program them to the rider’s preferences, everything is hidden in the frame and it’s light too.”

The entire team, as well as BMC engineer Guillame Farin, were impressed after the tests.“BMC and Shimano are two companies that keep pushing and developing new things. The package of the Trailfox and the XTR Di2 works perfectly. Francois is a very experienced and fast driver and his feedback has been consistently positive. We were able to quickly filter out two programs, one for fast transfers with light gears and one for the fast demanding race days. In addition, it is very quiet. The first impression is simply great”, said Farin after the tests.

Bailly-Maitre is currently in the final stages of his pre-season preparations and will fly to New Zealand in early March to score the first important points for overall victory in the first Enduro World Series race.
