General: Track World Cup: UCI uses on-bike cameras

February 14rd 2015 by Andrew Waldera

Cycling: The UCI will be using on-bike cameras at the Track World Championships in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (France) from February 18th to 22nd. With this measure, the world cycling association wants to increase the attractiveness of track cycling for fans.

The UCI had already had good experiences with on-bike cameras at the Road World Championships in Ponferrada. The move to on-bike cameras at the Track World Championships is of course a particularly good idea. Spectacular driving scenes are almost guaranteed! It is planned that the cameras will be mounted under the saddle at individual competitions. In order to prevent individual riders from being disadvantaged, it is intended to be installed on all bicycles. Both the local fans and the fans at home can look forward to this measure. The images are not only projected live at the National Velodrome, but also broadcast by over 30 broadcasters
