Cycling: Johannes Fischbach, Germany's current flagship mountain biker when it comes to downhill, starts the new season motivated and with a new sponsorship package.
After the end of the Fourcross World Cup in 2011, many pros were faced with the question of what to do next. Johannes Fischbach, who was a constant top 5 rider at the time, also had to make a decision and immediately focused on the Downhill World Cup. Fischbach was able to establish itself within a very short time and old master Marcus Klausmann wrested the German championship title from him. With the Ghost RRP team, Fischbach has built up a good and, above all, enormously important structure around itself over the past two years.
However, there will be some changes for the coming season. He will continue to compete under the Ghost RRP Team flag, but in Sram and Spank he was able to land two top-class sponsors who will support him with drives and wheels in the future.
“I was very satisfied with my previous sponsors and we have worked together successfully for many years, for which I would like to express my thanks once again. But I felt like I had to change something to move forward. With the new wheels from SPANK, I was able to gain really good impressions in all previous test rides. The products have proven themselves with other World Cup riders and teams and I don't have to do any experiments and know that I can rely on the parts. I've had good experiences with RockShox for years and now I've also been able to win SRAM as a sponsor. The American brand is not only known for its outstanding and innovative components, but also the on-site support at the World Cups and IXS Cups is unbeatable. That's the big difference to the 4X, back then I could manage everything on my own, today I need a perfectly functioning team around me. I managed and achieved that and now completed it with the new partner. So the season can come”, according to Fischbach.
