General: German championship in winter triathlon on 18.01.

January 8, 2015 by the editorial team

Triathlon: Until recently, the German Championship (DM) in winter triathlon was held in Oberstaufen. However, since this event had been discontinued for personal reasons, the German Triathlon Union (DTU) was looking for a new venue. This has now been found: The DM in winter triathlon will be held in Faistenau, Austria.

The DM was only made possible by the cooperation of the DTU, the Austrian Triathlon Association and the organizers in Faistenau. "It would be
shame about the sport and the active people if no DTU DM had taken place.", agrees Anja Kobs, the head of organization in Faistenau. In addition to the German championship, the Salzburg state championship will also be held on January 18th in Faistenau as part of the 2nd winter triathlon.

The German Triathlon Union (DTU) was also relieved by this solution: " We, as the German Triathlon Union, are delighted that together with our friends from Austria we can offer all German winter triathletes the opportunity to determine the best nationally in the elite and age group categories, " said Dr. Martin Engelhardt, President of the German Triathlon Union.

For all those who would still like to participate in the 2nd Winter Triathlon on January 17th and 18th: Registration is still open – you can find all the information on the corresponding website: www.wintertriathlon.eu
