cycling: Georg Egger makes a long-term commitment to Lexware

Cycling: The Lexware mountain bike team has prematurely extended the contract with Georg Egger. The reigning German U23 champion will remain loyal to the team from the Upper Black Forest up to and including 2017.

With the early contract extension, Georg Egger has signed for his entire U23 time. The Bavarian Swabian still has three years ahead of him in the junior category and he wants to be “stress-free”, as he says.
“In the first year everything went great in the team, the whole season went well. I want to spend my U23 years in this great climate,” Georg Egger explains his reasons. And adds that he gets along well with Luca Schwarzbauer and David Horvath, who are one year younger and who have now also moved up to the U23 category. "We'll form a strong U23 squad for the next few years", says Egger. This year that also includes his female U23 champion counterpart Lena Wehrle and Christian Pfäffle. They drive their last U23 season.

"I'm delighted about Georg's early contract extension and the trust he is showing in us. We feel confirmed in our work and continue to support athletes in the long term, as well as to promote the dual career of competitive sports and studies.", comments team boss Daniel Berhe on the new contract.

In addition to the feel-good factor in the team and the good support, Georg Egger's degree in mechanical engineering actually plays a role. “I get full support from the team. In this respect, too, the Lexware Mountain Bike Team encourages you. That's even part of the contract.", emphasizes the 19-year-old.
