Market: Designed for long tours and a lot of luggage, trekking bikes are the workhorses among bicycles. The Storck bike manufacturer based in Idstein has the Zero2Eight G1 ready for touring bikers with high demands.
The Storck Zero2Eight G1 is available for the 2015 season as a complete bike with Shimano Deore/XT equipment and as a frame set for an individual setup. As with Storck mountain bikes and racing bikes, the magic word for the frame construction is "Directional Depending Stiffness". According to the manufacturer, with this design, the horizontal rigidity is decoupled from the vertical rigidity. This should make the frame very stiff and stable, but still have a comfortable "flex". Other features of the frame include the tapered head tube for increased steering stiffness and the rear wheel thru-axle for maximizing the lateral stiffness of the rear triangle. The frame of the Storck Zero2Eight G1 is only designed for use with a disc brake.
The frame set with a weight of 1800 grams specified by the manufacturer is available for 699 euros. The frame is available in four sizes from S to XL. As a complete bike with Shimano Deore/XT equipment, the Storck Zero2Eight G1 costs 1698 euros, and the Upgrade Streetware Kit adds another 299 euros. If you want to call the bike your own with a powder coating of your choice, you can do this for an extra charge of 100 euros.
