Market: Fast, slim and light - the Roadlite AL from Canyon appeals to today's sporty and health-conscious cyclists. As with the Urban series, the bicycle manufacturer from Koblenz is once again entering new territory for the 2015 season with the fitness bike division.
The goal of the development was a bike suitable for everyday use, which offers sporty riding fun both on the after-work ride and on the tour at the weekend. The manufacturer's attention was therefore particularly focused on comfort in the seating and grip area and an ergonomic seating position. Thus, with the Canyon Roadlite AL, even extensive tours should become a pleasure. The fitness bike is available in two versions and, according to the manufacturer, weighs only 8,5 kg or 9,2 kg.
The aluminum frame of the Roadlite AL lacks neither a tapered head tube for higher steering stiffness nor internally routed cables. Thin seat stays and the VCLS seat post, which is available in two versions, should ensure more comfort in the seating area. It almost goes without saying that Canyon has installed ergonomic handlebar grips on the bike with flat handlebars. For the fork, Canyon relies on their own F34 carbon fork.
With the wide transmission range of the Shimano road bike gears, even steep climbs shouldn't be a problem. For good rolling behavior with low rolling resistance, 28mm wide Continental GP 4000 S II tires are fitted to the Canyon Roadlite AL. The Shimano BR-M396 disc brake with the 160 brake discs ensures reliable deceleration of the bike.
Thanks to the built-in platform pedals, no special cycling shoes are required. Perfect for going to the office by bike. For women, the fitness bike is also available with a special lady's saddle. The slim Canyon Roadlite AL with Shimano 105 equipment is available at a price of 999 euros, with Shimano Ultegra equipment the slim speedster costs 1299 euros.
