Product news: Canyon Fatbike for 2015: Fat, fatter, DUDE CF!

13 December 2014 by Andrew Waldera

Canyon DUDE CF 9.0 Unlimited turquoise - green

Market: One of the trends of the 2014 season is undoubtedly the fat bikes rolling on balloon tires. The DUDE CF is the first Fatbike in the Canyon range for the 2015 season.

There are plenty of reasons for using a fat bike: fun riding, traction, stability and, last but not least, a striking look – after all, it's a feast for the eyes! The fat rollers offer incredible grip on all surfaces and show their strengths especially where other riders have to get off their bikes. Snow, sand or gravel, nothing can really stop a fat bike.

The Canyon DUDE CF promises maximum riding fun for the rider. When developing the 1550 gram light carbon frame, the Koblenz-based company incorporated a number of useful detailed solutions. The features include a screw-on front derailleur adapter and a chainsuck plate. The internally routed shift cables ensure a tidy look of the bike.

The developers have come up with a special feature at the rear of the frame. Due to the two possible positions of the adjustable dropouts, tires with a width of 4.0 to 4.8 can be used on the DUDE CF. At the front, the Canyon Rude CF full carbon fork and the RockShox Bluto RL suspension fork do their job. A 15 mm thru-axle also guarantees maximum rigidity and stability.

The wheels of the Canyon DUDE CF were developed in cooperation with DT Swiss. The voluminous Schwalbe Jumbo Jim tires provide powerful traction and grip. The fat bike is available in four attractive configurations and three frame sizes. The price ranges from 1899 euros for the DUDE CF 8.0 to 2599 euros for the top model DUDE CF 9.0 SL.
