Spectrum: New official bike trail in Baden-Württemberg: Bikezone Gonso Trail

29 October 2014 by the editorial office

gonso1

Spectrum: On Saturday, a new official mountain bike trail was inaugurated in Albstadt, Baden-Württemberg. The 46 km long trail is the product of a cooperation between Bikezone Albstadt and the equipment manufacturer Gonso.

Since mountain biking has become a political issue in Baden-Württemberg for some time and the state government persistently refuses to abolish the so-called two-meter rule (we reported), bikers there are dependent on officially approved routes. Such a trail was inaugurated last Sunday in Albstadt in the Swabian Jura.

The 46km route is designed to be suitable for both beginners and pros and also includes part of the Cross-Country World Cup route. The Bikezone Gonso Trail is the beginning of a 150 km long network of bike paths around Albstadt.

Information about the trail is available at: www.bikezone-albstadt.de
