Alberto Contador, the driving force behind the Tinkoff-Saxo family, has to end the season prematurely. On Sunday he injured his right knee and will therefore not be able to compete in the Tour of Beijing. Having to cut short his successful season in such a way doesn't do the Spaniard good, but the focus is on the year ahead and his speedy, full recovery, Contador said.
“The conclusion of the season is definitely positive, even if I unfortunately couldn't finish the Tour de France. It wasn't an easy season for me, but definitely a satisfying season with solid results.", Contador reports. In the coming days he will have to undergo several examinations in order to later start the preparations for 2015 with a full recovery.
