Cycling: Specialized-Lululemon has won the women's team time trial title for the third straight year. The team around Trixi Worrack and Lisa Brennauer dominated the race from the start.
The first team that caused a stir was the US outfit Optum. However, his time did not last long. In the final, this was mainly due to Astana-Be Pink, who turned the tide on the final climb, just under three kilometers from the finish, and took bronze. Somewhat surprisingly, the Boels-Dolmans team around reigning time trial world champion Ellen van Dijk stayed behind.
Second place went to Australian team Orica-AIS, which also benefited from a late crash by team Rabo-Liv. Things went well for the team around Marianne Vos until half of the race, but then Vos had to let the team go due to a technical defect. Even before the last climb, the team was weakened. The technically demanding descent finally took only four riders to complete, but they fell in a roundabout.
