Cycling: The Lexware mountain bike team has announced three more additions for the 2015 season. Lena Wehrle, Anna Saier and Torben Drach move up from the junior team to the top team, taking a career step forward.
The development of young athletes, ideally up to the pro camp, that is the conceptual cornerstone of the Lexware mountain bike team. For the young bikers who are gathered in the Lexware Junior Team, the top team is both a goal and an incentive. And, as with Lena Wehrle, Anna Saier and Torben Drach, the next career step. “It definitely means more responsibility”, Torben Drach emphasizes first, “I now have a real contract and I get the right material. To do that, I have to perform accordingly.”

However, the Kirchzartener does not associate this with pressure, but with "with joy", as he says. "It's been my wish for years and I've always looked up to the big ones", explains the German runner-up in the youth class and third in the downhill championship. State trainer Bernd Ebler, who looks after him as a coach, played a major role in the development of the 16-year-old student. Anna Saier is also full of anticipation. “I'm very proud to be able to drive up there. This is another step in my career”, says the student from Offenburg. So far she has only read about the races of the top team around U23 champion Georg Egger, Christian Pfäffle and Co.
And the German vice champion in the U17 also points out that it is now "even harder" becomes more demanding in terms of competition and training. The two young riders will still be in splendor for the last competitions in the BDR young talent selection series this weekend. Anna Saier even has chances of overall victory.
The third homegrown talent who will join the top team in 2015 is Lena Wehrle. She has overcome a few dry spells in recent years, but did not let the fun of mountain biking spoil her and reaped the reward she deserved with the German championship title in the U23 category. The technically experienced Buchenbacher finished second in the U23 Bundesliga and also showed her qualities in the Eliminator Sprint. "I'm really happy that I made the leap into the top team. That will make things easier for me next year.", the student at the Freiburg University of Art and Design commented on the signing of the contract.
“We are pleased that we can once again take promising talent from our own ranks into the Lexware mountain bike team. Our goal is to offer the talents an optimal platform and the framework conditions for further development and to give them the necessary impulses without overtaxing them"., explains team boss Daniel Berhe.
