Clothing: Pearl Izumi Pro Thermal Arm Warmer: Fall can come

September 21, 2014 by the editorial office

Test: Summer is slowly but surely letting us down and the days are getting shorter. The temperatures have also been falling since then and the right clothing is now all the more important on the bike. Shimano's subsidiary Pearl Izumi offers a variety of clothing items. From trousers to jerseys, jackets and socks, the Pearl Izumi catalog has the right item for every weather condition. If you want to do without a long jersey for the upcoming autumn days and still want to face the temperatures, you will not be able to avoid arm warmers. We had Pearl Izumi's Pro Thermal arm warmers in addition.

Getting new clothes for each season just so you don't have to freeze on the bike can quickly become very expensive. You can perfectly complement your summer outfit with arm or leg warmers. Pearl Izumis Pro Thermal Arm Warmers should fulfill this function. These consist of 63 percent polyester, 27 percent Minerale™ polyester and 10 percent elastane, which means that they should offer the greatest possible freedom of movement while also being functional.

The Arm warmers are offered in sizes XS, S, M, L and XL. The sleeves are anatomically shaped specifically for the left or right arm and have an elastic silicone band so that they do not slip while driving.
Due to the textile mixture, the fabric should also dry very quickly and be odorless.

The Pro Thermal Arm Warmers lie supple on the arms. Putting it on is easy thanks to the flexible fabric and you feel very comfortable thanks to the fleece lining on the inside of the sleeves. The preformed sleeves do not pinch in the bend and do not impede movements on the bike.

However, what is striking right from the start is the length of the arm warmers. If they close with the gloves, they go extremely high on the shoulder and even had to be folded over. As a result, they quickly wrinkle and tend to slip easily.

They still fulfill their warming function, even under adverse conditions. They are undoubtedly a good alternative to a long jersey, but the price of the Pro Thermal Arm Warmers is not for small purses at 54,95 euros.

Conclusion

The Pearl Izumi Pro Thermal Arm Warmers offer a great feature. They fully fulfill their task of warming the driver. The leeched inside and the anatomical fit provide a high degree of comfort and mobility. However, they are quite long.
