Cycling: Leif Lampater and Marcel Kalz won the Madison title at the end of the 128th Bahn-DM in Cottbus. The duo from the Maloja Pushbiker team referred Nico Heßlich (Maloja Pushbiker) and Maximilian Beyer (KED Stevens) after 90 laps. Pascal Ackermann and Marco Mathis (rad-net Rose) placed third.

The dominance of the Maloja Pushbike team should pay off. While Lampater and Kalz concentrated on the sprint ratings, their teammates had their backs, but did not go away empty-handed either.

In the end, Lampater and Kalz had 24 points to their credit, three more than Heßlich and Beyer. In the end, Ackermann and Mathis were 12 points behind.

“The sprints were always hard fought. But overall it went perfectly for us. It was a bit of a shame that Christian and Achim weren't rewarded for their courageous push in the closing stages," said Leif Lampater.

Almost 30 laps before the end, the Maloja pushbiker duo Christian Grasmann and Achim Burkart attacked, but couldn't complete a lap. In the end, they both got fourth place.

In addition to the Madison, the keirin medals were also awarded on the final day of the championships. Here, Stefan Bötticher, who started the race as a favourite, secured his second title after winning the sprint. Second was Marc Schröder, third Robert Förstemann.

In the women's category, Kristina Vogel secured her third title at the Bahn-DM in Cottbus. Together with Doreen Heinze she won the team sprint.
