cycling: Emanuel Buchmann wins the Rad-Bundesliga, Florian Bissinger Tchibo Top Rad Liga

September 14, 2014 by the editorial office

Emmanuel Buchman

Cycling: The Rad-Bundesliga 2014 is history and celebrates its overall winner with Emanuel Buchmann (rad-net Rose).

In Berlin, the Rad-Bundesliga came to an end this weekend with a double event. Emanuel Buchmann showed the greatest staying power. After the Ravensburger lost the overall lead in the Stölting team's triple victory on Saturday, he regained it in the final time trial at BER Airport with a third place on the day. In the end, with 727 points, he was 20 points ahead of Christopher Hatz (Bergstrasse) and 87 points ahead of Heinrich Berger (KED Stevens Team Berlin).

The victories in Berlin were secured by players from the Stölting team. On Saturday, Phil Bauhaus celebrated a superior sprint victory in Berlin-Wannsee, ahead of his teammates Jan Dieteren and Maximilian Werda. This Sunday, the German U23 time trial champion Nils Politt followed suit.

A German was also allowed to celebrate in Austria. In the Tchibo Top Rad Liga, Bavarian Florian Bissinger (WSA Greenlife) secured overall victory thanks to a courageous ride in the final race in Thalgau/Gaisberg. The day's victory went to 20-year-old Felix Großschartner (Gourmetfein Simplon), who also became Austrian Champion on the mountain. He won ahead of his teammate Matija Kvasina. Third was David Wöhrer (Tirfol Cycling).
