cycling: Tour de France: Joaquim Rodriguez targets mountain jersey

July 14, 2014 by the editorial office

purito

Cycling: The Spaniard Joaquim Rodriguez (Katusha) already indicated it yesterday when he secured the points in the last two mountain classifications behind Tony Martin (Omega Pharma-QuickStep) – he wants to be the mountain king of the Tour de France.

Rodriguez, who injured his hand badly during the Giro d'Italia and was called up late to his team's Tour squad, wants the jersey with the red dots. “That is my ultimate goal”, so the Spaniard. “I already won the mountain jersey at the Vuelta in 2005, that was great. I will try to come in groups. In the last week I should be good enough to secure the jersey.”

Rodriguez is also active today and is currently chasing the leading group. He is currently in fifth place in the ranking.
