Cycling: Nino Schurter is back on his mountain bike after his exit at the Tour de Suisse. As part of the BMC Cup, he won in Lenzerheide on familiar terrain.

June was an eventful month for Nino Schurter. After the exceptional mountain bike talent got on his racing bike at the Tour de Suisse and successfully completed the tour through his homeland, he secured victory in Lenzerheide last weekend.

Since Lenzerheide will be the venue for important events in the coming years and the 2018 World Championship will be held there, many drivers have already taken the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the terrain. In addition, Lenzerheide is in the immediate vicinity of the multiple world champion, but his long-time competitor Julien Absalon also insisted on starting here.

The trio of Absalon, Schurter and Mathias Flückiger set out on their own in the hunt for the podium as early as lap one. The trio set the pace for the entire race and only Lukas Flückiger managed to catch up in the sixth of seven laps. The two Flückiger brothers, Absalon and Schurter, went into the last lap as a foursome. After Schurter and Mathias Flückiger were a few meters away, they were the first to go down the all-important home straight. In the sprint duel, Schurter secured victory in front of his home crowd and referred M. Flückiger and Julien Absalon.

“It was a piece of hard work. On the last lap I had to do everything I could to pass Mathias but it was worth it. It's great to have won the race in front of a home crowd.", so Schurter exhausted at the finish.
