Product news: BMC Speedfox: 3 new models of the all-mountain classic

July 5, 2014 by the editorial office

Market: BMC has its all-mountain classic speedfox revised for 2015. The bike now has all the important features you would expect when you are looking for high quality, the latest technology and, most importantly, pure riding pleasure.

Great things come in great packages: both the nimble mountain goat and the downhill junkie will get their money's worth with the new speedfox. It guarantees that the adventure element of mountain biking is at the center of every ride. Thanks to its efficient and lightweight construction, this mountain bike is able to tackle even the most difficult trails. Uncomplicated to maintain, it is ideal for drivers who want to make good use of the time available to them – by enjoying the ride.

BMC's Big Wheel Concept (BWC) was applied by mating 29-inch wheels with a geometry that accommodates classic BMC traits such as short chainstays, a slack steering head angle, generous top tube length, short stem and minimal stack height. The driver enjoys better stability at high speed and gains confidence in technical terrain - without having to sacrifice agility.

The speedfox is an amalgamation of traits of its wilder cousin, Trailfox, as well as the reindeer, Fourstrokes. The 130 millimeters of Advanced Pivot System (APS) suspension travel provides additional control on demanding descents and additional comfort on long days in the saddle. It's complemented by 435mm chain stays, a 68,5 degree steering head angle and a fork with more offset, resulting in an extremely balanced geometry with a 607mm stack and 435mm reach (size M).

Short chainstays and a long reach combined with a short stem, a low bottom bracket and a flat steering head angle make the bike stable and give its rider self-confidence even on the roughest terrain. In order to achieve an even driving experience on all 3 speedfox models, each bike has the same stem length.

The drive side chainstay provides a chain guide as well as a skid plate to protect the rear end from unexpected riding events. The framework of speedfox has internal cable routing into the head tube and thus looks particularly tidy - a homage to our consistent focus on high-quality design and aesthetic values in the manufacture of our bikes.

The new speedfox is available in three models, SF01, SF02 and SF03 and in sizes XS to XL. So no one is left behind:

bmc6

The speedfox SF01 has a carbon fiber frame and comes in two specifications: XTR or XX1.

bmc5

The speedfox SF02 has a carbon fiber main frame and aluminum rear triangle and comes in three specifications: X.0, XT or XT/SLX.

bmc4

The speedfox SF03 has an aluminum frame and comes in two specifications: XT/SLX or Deore.
