Cycling: Raymond Kreder (Garmin Sharp) secured victory at the Garmin Velothon in Berlin today. After 172 kilometers he prevailed in a bunch sprint against Irishman Sam Bennett (NetApp-Endura) and Russian Alexander Porsev.
In rainy weather, four escapees made their way to Berlin alone. On the final laps to be driven, Tim Gebauer (Stölting) and Christopher Hatz (MLP-Bergstraße) broke away from their competitors. The duo experienced the bell for the last lap. However, their lead had already drastically melted by then. They were finally caught a few kilometers from the finish.
