Product news: Pinarello Dogma F8: The evolution of a racing machine

29 May 2014 by the editorial office

Italian frame builder Pinarello has been working with Jaguar for some time. The result of this collaboration is the eighth evolution of the top model Dogma. Also important in the development of Dogma F8 was the feedback from Team Sky drivers, led by Chris Froome.

Compared to the previous model, the dogma 65.1 should the frame be even more asymmetrical. At the same time, it is said to have been possible to make it lighter and more aerodynamically optimized. Overall, the aerodynamics are said to have been increased by 47 percent. To achieve this, Pinarello is now using the newly developed FlatBack tubes. Their form is based on the analysis of 70 frame dummies.

The tubes are made of Toray T1000 1k Dream Carbon. As a result, the frame should be compared to the dogma 65.1 120 grams lighter and 12 percent stiffer. With a height of 54 centimeters, the frame weighs 860 grams. The new one too Onda F8-Fork has been revised. Here the information amounts to 54 percent better aerodynamics and 10 percent less weight.

The Pinarello Dogma F8 will be available in a total of 13 sizes (42 to 62 centimetres) and different colours.
