Giro d'Italia: The last mountain stage of a memorable tour offered an exciting spectacle. And finalized the overall rating.

The 34-year-old Australian Michael Rogers (Saxo-Tinkoff) is experiencing his second spring in this Giro and is already celebrating his second stage win. As he himself explains, a dream to triumph on this mountain that has become a Giro legend in recent years. He won relatively confidently in front of the two Italians Franco Pellizotti (Androni-Giocattoli/+0:36) and Francesco Bongiorno (Bardiani-CSF/+0:48).

Nairo Quintana's (Movistar) overall victory on this final mountain stage of the Giro was never in serious jeopardy. The Colombian finished 4:44 behind Rogers at the Zoncolan alongside fellow countryman and second overall Rigoberto Uran (Omega Pharma-QuickStep). Another strong performance was shown by Simon Geschke (+2:37) as tenth in the stage.

Australia's Cadel Evans again lost time in the fight for a better place in the top ten. He is now eighth, exactly twelve minutes behind. Fabio Aru (Astana/+4:04) will finish the Giro in third place and thus on the podium, ahead of Frenchman Pierre Roland (Europcar/+5:46). The first ten complete Pozzovivo, Maijka, Keldermann, Evans, Hesjedal, Kiserlowski.

Tomorrow's stage takes the riders to Trieste, where eight laps of honor are on the stage plan.
