As part of Mavic's 125th anniversary, the French wheel specialist presented the new one Ksyrium 125-wheelset. In the revised version, the new set is limited to 5000 sets, but is delivered with specially developed tires. A completely new tire was designed for both the front and the rear wheel, which should perfectly complement the new wheelset. The Inter Spoke Milling-Technology (ISM), which Mavic has been using for a long time to reduce the weight of the rims, has been refined for the new set. In order to get the perfect product, each rim is individually measured and weighed so that as much material as possible can be removed without losing rigidity and strength.

With the new Mavic Kyrium 125 a mix of aluminum and carbon spokes is used. The front wheel only has Zicral aluminum spokes, on the rear wheel the well-known carbon spokes are installed on the left side, the same construction as on the current ones Ksyrium SLR-wheels is used.

With the right tires, the GripLink on the front wheel and the PowerLink on the rear wheel, Mavic rounds off the wheelset and ensures the best rolling characteristics. It wasn't just the profile that made a difference. The carcass was also designed according to the loads. If a Kevlar layer is used on the front wheel, the tire on the rear wheel is strengthened with a nylon layer. The complete set weighs 1920 grams, the wheels individually 1370 grams.
