There wasn't much missing. Joachim Eilers from Chemnitz gave the German team a silver medal over the kilometer on the third day of the title fights. Last year's third placed with a time of 59,984 seconds behind defending champion Francois Pervis, whose clock stopped at 59,385 seconds. The Frenchman not only managed to defend his title, he also celebrated his second rainbow jersey at this World Cup after winning the keirin competition. Third place went to New Zealander Simon van Velthooven, whose time was already over a minute. Eric Engler finished eighth with a time of 1.01,327:XNUMX minutes.
