The cycling world association UCI announced the qualification criteria for the road world championships on its website today. This year, the Spanish town of Ponferrada will welcome the cycling side from September 21st to 28th.

According to the criteria, the top ten nations in the UCI WorldTour ranking are each allowed to nominate 14 riders. Among them must be at least six starters and three reserve drivers. In the U23 class, the first 15 nations of the UCI Europe Tour are entitled to nominate ten drivers each for the road race. After all, five of these drivers are eligible to start. The nominations are based on the status of the ranking lists on August 15, 2014.

Each nation is entitled to two starting places for the individual time trial competitions. Since the BDR knows that Tony Martin, the world champion in this discipline, is in its own ranks, the association is allowed to send a total of three starters.
