Marcel Kittel rides a wave of success. After his brilliant last year, which he crowned with four stage victories in the Tour de France, there are already four successes this year.
In an interview, he admitted that he didn't want to leave it at that Sport1 on record: "The hands are back to zero."
They are also zero in other respects. Once again, the Erfurter reiterated his demand for an anti-doping law. “This is an important step that must come. To show that doping is cheating, for which you are punished," says Kittel, for the credibility "Only through credible action" can be generated. He is certain that this will go down well with the fans: “I think we are in a very crucial phase right now. That people are now realizing – and hopefully more and more – that things have happened.” [...] “Cycling deserves more trust. No blind trust, of course.”
But that was not the only thing Kittel said clearly. His opinion on cycling in Germany is similarly clear. “My absolute dream would be a German World Tour team again. And then maybe another Germany tour.”
