Product news: VAR tools also for hobbyists

16. February 2014 by Rick Schubert

May 5

The French tool manufacturer VAR is known for high-quality tools. In the past, the focus was primarily on specialist dealers, workshops and assembly companies, VAR has now launched a whole range of tools especially for the aftermarket segment. In addition to chain whips and chain tools, all hobby mechanics are now offered bottom bracket wrenches and three Y-tools for the workshop at home.

May 3

The premium chain whip covers all eventualities with its range of application from 5 to 11-speed cassettes and is supposed to guarantee an optimal hold on all sprockets thanks to its rounded tool head. The 30 centimeter long handle allows you to apply enough force to loosen any stuck cassette in conjunction with the locking ring tool.

Chain whip – 19,95 euros
Lock Ring Tool - €18,95

May 2The VAR bottom bracket wrench is suitable for all Shimano Hollowtech 2 bottom brackets and identical bearings from other manufacturers. Like the robust pedal wrench, this is made of carbon steel and should shine with a long service life even with frequent use.

Bottom bracket wrench – 15,95 euros
Pedal wrench – 17,95 euros

May 4The ergonomically shaped VAR chain tool should impress with its ease of use. Due to its compact and, above all, flat design, it can also be easily stowed in a backpack and is not a disruptive factor when travelling.

Chain tool – 18,95 euros

May 1VAR combines the most used bike tools in three Y-Tools. On the one hand it is a tool with the Allen sizes 4, 5 and 6 millimeters, on the other hand the same sizes are offered with a hexagon socket with a ball head. The third important tool is the most common Torx sizes T10, T25 and T30.

Y Allen key - 9,45 euros
Y-socket with ball head - 9,95 euros
Y torx wrench – 9,45 euros

All VAR tools are below www.paul-lange.de ordered.
