cycling: KMC MTB Bundesliga: No race in Neustadt

February 6rd 2014 by the editorial office

Pointed2

The race scheduled for the first weekend in April in Neustadt/Weinstrasse has to be canceled for organizational reasons. Thus the start of the KMC MTB Bundesliga 2014 has been postponed to May 11th in Saalhausen. For 2015 they want to pick up the thread again.

At the RSC Neustadt/W. Efforts have been made until recently to stick to the Bundesliga opening weekend on April 5th and 6th. But after the event hadn't been secured a good two and a half months before it was to be held, the ripcord was pulled to give the teams the opportunity to change their plans.

Despite this disappointment, the Palatinate Cycling Club wants to stay on the ball and work on becoming part of the 2015 series. "We're going to do it again next year. Mountain biking remains an issue for the RSC”, says club member Wolfram Kurschat. The professional from the Topeak-Ergon team is one of the driving forces behind the efforts to become the location of the KMC MTB Bundesliga.
